Persephone, Queen of the Underworld Oil: Persephone is a Greek Goddess. She is the wife of the god of the underworld Hades and the daughter of the goddess of harvest Demeter.  Her myth tells of her being abducted by Hades while picking beautiful flowers.  She was taken down to the underworld to marry hades and ate 6 pomegranate seeds.  Hades and Demeter struck up a deal that she would spend 6 months in the underworld and 6 months in the upper world.  The myth is connected to the cycle of winter and spring.
