Ostara: Ostara is the Spring (Vernal) Equinox, celebrated on or around March 20th as the return of spring. This season and Sabbat is connected to rebirth, fertility, growth, and sunshine. The Equinoxes bring balance to the world, they are the time that day and night, dark and light are equal in length. This season brings a sense of renewal as we finally take our first steps into the official season of spring. As the earth blossoms, the Maiden is fertile bringing creativity, birth, abundance, hope, and inspiration. Here we are able to take the lessons that came with the winter and integrate them into our renewed spirit. As Ostara comes along with the start of Aries season, it tends to bring a sense of optimism, confidence, energy, and the ability to embrace any upcoming challenges with determination. More bountiful times are coming and as we awaken from our winter slumber, we welcome in a sense of child-like wonder. Take time to fully embrace and step into the energetic balance that comes with this seasonal shift.

To celebrate Ostara consider creating an altar dedicated to new intentions for the season, especially in the realm of growth and healing as we move away from the dark months of winter. While Imbolc is an excellent time for planning your garden, Ostara is the start of the agricultural cycle, making it an excellent time to actually start your garden. Get your hands in the dirt, plant some seeds to go along with the intentions you are setting. Spring cleaning and having bonfires are other ways to welcome in the new season and release stagnation and stale energy. Purify your home and yourself. Create goals for the season, go outside and play in the sunshine, clear your head, and get grounded.
